Alexandre Bilodeau from Montreal became the first Canadian to be awarded an Olympic gold medal on home turf. His honour was earned tonight in a beautiful no-holds barred performance in the Men’s Mogul competition. In a touching interview following the win, Alex credited his older brother, Frederic, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy, with providing him with the inspiration to continue to reach for his Olympic Gold dream. Frederic’s doctor said that he would not walk past the age of 10, but Frederic is now 28 and still very much mobile. Alex said “If Frederic feels he doesn’t have limitations on his life, how could I think I have limitations on mine? ”
Where could you draw inspiration from to give you that extra edge in competition?
