Dear Chorus Leaders: This is a great time for you to step into your full potency as a leader and positively impact the lives of your members.
/ Communication: Practice ongoing/proactive/consistent communication with members even if there is nothing definitive or new to say. Send a joke, a podcast, or a video of you saying good morning with some inspiration.
/ Connection: For many, coming together weekly in rehearsals is a lifeline. Get creative with ways to keep that weekly social connection and community alive even while physically distanced. Seeing each other virtually can add an incredible amount of comfort.
/ Hope and Optimism: Talk about the future. Dream of your plans together. This is a good time to do foundational work that perhaps you don’t like to give up rehearsal time for! Discuss your chorus values, your strengths, your vision. Remind yourselves of who you are and will be.
/ Support: Be present for your members and listen to them. Reassure them you will be okay – together. Though the external events are uncertain, remind them of what you are certain, the things that will never change – ie/ your love and support of each other, and the incredible harmony you create together and will continue to do so.
